On Wednesday, November 8, 2017, 8am-4pm, the Lakewood Police Department and the Westshore Enforcement Bureau are co-hosting a one-day Advanced CIT Training class. The training location is the Lakewood Woman's Club Pavilion in Lakewood Park, 14532 Lake Rd. Lakewood Ohio 44107.

There will be two highly experienced trainers for the session: Lt. Michael Yohe and Lt. Mark Farrar, Akron PD. I have attended training sessions from both of these presenters and can attest to their subject area knowledge, experience and ability to convey their messages.

Lt. Yohe will instruct in the morning session.

Lt. Farrar will instruct in the afternoon session.

The focus will be on CIT skills, de-escalation skills and learning how to effectively face encounters with those affected by Autism.

The first 50 requests for a spot will be honored. Preferred attendees for this training are CIT trained officers, EMS personnel or dispatchers.
