This award is presented each year to an individual who contributes the most to further the goals of the tactical community.
A selection committee makes its decision based on evaluating the individual's performance, dedication, and leadership.
The award recognizes the recipient for:
- Unselfish dedication to enhancing the capabilities of the tactical unit or law enforcement agency.
- Unstinting efforts to increase officer and public safety through training and the mutual exchange of information.
- Epitomizing the highest standards of professionalism and honor in all aspects of law enforcement.
All nominations must include the following:
- Full name.
- Department/Agency.
- Documentation of the justification: A synopsis of the rationale in paragraph form.
- A contact person to verify the event, actions, or conduct.
2025 OTOA Awards Banquet Wednesday, June 11, 2025, 6 pm - 8 pm Kalahari Resorts & Convention Center, Sandusky, Ohio
Winners of this prestigious OTOA Award will receive the following:
- Recognition at the OTOA Awards Banquet.
- Lodging will be provided for the award winner for the night of the awards banquet.
- VIP table placement for the winner and *one (1) guest at the OTOA Awards Banquet.

*This award is eligible for a maximum of one (1) person annually.
*Lodging will be provided for the award winner for the night of the awards banquet.
*Lodging and meals are NOT covered for the annual training conference and course attendance.
*The recipient of this award shall receive complimentary registration to the Ohio Tactical Officers Association Annual Conference for five (5) consecutive years following the presentation of the award. Lodging and travel expenses are not included.
