John (JD) Morris

John David (JD) Morris retired from the 5th Special Forces Group (Airborne) in 2008, concluding a distinguished 21-year career in the U.S. Army. Over 14 years, JD served in a variety of specialized roles including sniper, explosive breacher, assaulter, intelligence manager, and team sergeant. His expertise led him to instruct foreign military personnel during numerous deployments to the Middle East between 1993 and 2005.
Since his retirement from active duty, JD has leveraged his combat marksmanship skills to train armed citizens across multiple states including Georgia, Kentucky, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, and West Virginia. He has also provided instruction to federal agencies and SWAT teams in the Northeast region.
Currently, JD teaches advanced combat marksmanship and tactical skills and oversees training operations for OSS2 Shooting & Survival, LLC, a company owned by his wife, Janet. In 2023, he joined the Ohio Tactical Officers Association (OTOA) RED Team, contributing his extensive operational and instructional experience to the organization’s advanced tactical training programs.
