Chris Albert Bio

Region 5 Training Coordinator

Lieutenant Chris Albert has served with the Beaver Township Police Department for more than 23 years and currently oversees departmental training initiatives while leading a multi-jurisdictional police canine training group supporting agencies throughout the Steel Valley region. He brings more than two decades of law enforcement experience with a strong focus on tactical operations, firearms instruction, canine deployment, and inter-agency training coordination.

Chris holds a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from Youngstown State University (2024). Throughout his career, he has completed advanced instructor development and tactical training programs and remains actively engaged in professional development through the Ohio Tactical Officers Association (OTOA), the Active Shooter Symposium, the Ohio Collaborative Law Enforcement Accreditation Conference, and the Ohio Chiefs of Police Conference.

Chris is an OPOTA Certified Firearms Instructor and Red Dot Pistol Instructor and teaches pistol, revolver, shotgun, and rifle courses. He is also an Active Shooter Response Instructor, ALERRT Instructor, and Tactical Shield Instructor. In addition, he serves as an OPOTA Virtual Reality Instructor, Taser Instructor, AR-15 and Glock Armorer, Certified Police Canine Trainer, OPOTA Canine Evaluator, and Field Training Officer.

Through his leadership in departmental training and regional canine instruction, Chris works to strengthen officer preparedness and operational effectiveness. His experience in tactical response, instructor development, and collaborative training initiatives helps ensure officers and canine teams are prepared to meet the demands of high-risk and evolving environments.
