Jake DeMonte has been a police officer for over 20 years and is currently a Lieutenant at the Tiffin Police Department where he supervises Patrol Operations. He has 15 years of Special Response Team experience with the Tiffin Police Department, beginning as an Operator, then a Team Leader, and working his way up to Commander for the last 7 years. During those 15 years he participated in or coordinated almost 200 missions varying between barricaded subjects, high risk warrant service, and active threat encounters. Jake was instrumental in creating a new multijuris team between Tiffin Police, Tiffin Fire, Fostoria Police, Fostoria Fire, and the Seneca County Sheriff's Office. This new multijuris team, the Black Swamp ESU, consists of 15 Operators, 4 Negotiators, 5 TEMS medics, and 6 Drone Operators. He is a Liberty Dynamic EDD Instructor. Outside of SRT, Jake was a K-9 Handler for 11 years and is still a DRE/DRE Instructor and SFST Instructor. He teaches the ARIDE and DRE programs for the State of Ohio.
